Alright, let’s talk drinks. If you’ve been to Stein Distillery, you know we do more than just whiskey tastings—we mix up some pretty damn good cocktails, too. And since we’re working with mini-cocktails (because OLCC rules and all that), we make sure every sip is packed with flavor.
We’ve got a few new ones on the menu, and trust us—you’re gonna want to try these.
Peanut Butter (or Bacon Fat) Old Fashioned
Ever heard of fat washing? Sounds weird, tastes incredible. It’s a process where we take Stein Rye Whiskey and infuse it with peanut butter or bacon fat, giving it a silky, rich mouthfeel that takes an Old Fashioned to another level.
The result? A cocktail that’s smooth, slightly nutty (or smoky, if you go bacon), and dangerously easy to sip.
Perfect for: Whiskey drinkers looking for something new.
Chai-Tini
If you’re into spiced chai tea, this one’s for you. We take Stein Rye Vodka, infuse it with chai, and mix it into a creamy, lightly spiced dessert cocktail. It’s cold, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet.
Best enjoyed when: You want something that feels fancy but goes down way too easy.
Hot Buttered Rum
Yeah, we know, winter’s technically winding down. But let’s be real—it’s still cold as hell out here in Joseph. This drink is like a cozy blanket in a glass—made with Rattle Creek Rum and our house-made butter batter. It’s rich, warming, and perfect for thawing out after checking out Wallowa Lake in the winter.
Pairs best with: A cold day and zero plans to be productive.
Wallowa Winter Cosmo
A little sweet, a little tart, and nothing like the Cosmos you get at a chain restaurant. This one’s made with Steinshine infused with pineapple, lime, and ginger (oleo saccharum-style), shaken with cranberry juice, and served up cold.
It’s bright, citrusy, and kind of like a tropical escape—if that escape included snow-covered mountains.
Best for: Pretending winter isn’t a thing.
More Than Just a Tasting Room
We’re not just here to pour straight whiskey (though we do that too). Our mini-cocktails give you a chance to try something creative—whether you’re a whiskey fan, a cocktail lover, or just looking for something new.
And if you catch Jon Sanchez behind the bar, you’ll probably end up with a drink and a solid conversation about whiskey, distilling, or why peanut butter and bourbon actually belong together.
Come hang out, sip on something good, and let’s talk booze.
Which one are you trying first?
